The Dyson Relay Shield. The shield is in honour of a former APS student who lost his life whilst serving in the RAAF during the Second World War. The shield is a prize for the winning team in the Dyson Relay APSOC Competition. This year Old Melbournians, the club which I am the student captain and official treasurer for won the relays for the first time since 1958. The event is a relay race where each member completes one lap of the Tan (there are six members in each relay team). I get to present the shield to the headmaster at Assembly this week :D I’m so proud of the boys and the effort they put in to win.

Events of last night:

1. My neighbours had a ridiculously loud party next door complete with an insane sound system. not that I don’t like dance music just the fact that my methods book was vibrating whilst I was studying was somewhat off putting. 

2. These very same drunken neighbours then proceeded to throw beer bottles over the fence in an attempt to hit my dog who was barking because of all of the noise coming from the party.

3. One of these bottles shattered against the side of our house and nearly hit my mum who had gone outside to see what all the fuss was about and calm my dog Snowy. 

4. The party ended four minutes later because it began to rain. 

I love my mum, she’s the greatest person in the world and that scared the crap out of me. Perhaps the thing that struck me the most was the immediacy of it, one moment I was studying and the next minute I was outside seeing glass break and Snowy absolutely terrified. 

Some nights..

1. Two of my best mates witness a three person car accident which involved a car running a red light and crashing into a couple on a motorbike. As a consequence they suffered from shock and were really upset. I don’t know about the fate of the people on the motorbike or car, they were alive when the paramedics got to the scene. 

2. A boy recovering from a 10cm long gash in his forearm sustained during Cross Country achieved a two minute personal best for 6km. 

3. My school team beat the reign premiership favourites, which now makes us premiership favourites :D 

4. I am planning on doing roughly nine hours of methods study today. 

5. My formal date bought her dress today. 

6. I need to get a matching bow tie… :/
